"I no longer scramble blindly through hardship. I no longer emerge from a bad time feeling relieved just to have survived. Instead of despairing, I try to find the lesson within the experience"
- Halle Berry, actress
"A woman asked me 'What was the AHA light bulb moment in your life?' I realized it was when I figured out that my thoughts control my whole life - that no matter what hand life deals me, I can always choose my response to it.... If you want your life to be more rewarding, you have to change the way you think"
- Oprah

HalleDot.... just like you and me...
I do quite a bit of research for BLOG thingie. First for the pictures and also for the quotes. Its quite challenging and helps my creative need for feed. it's also great fun and helps keep me focused on my Destin-ee. Sometimes I come across quotes from famous dots that surprise me. For example the two lovely ladies I have quoted above. It goes to show me that the same rules apply to every single dot on this planet in relation to hardship and life in general. But what I love is to read the lessons that we ALL LEARN from pain and suffering, grief and loss. I explain things in my own way as does every other dot but the messages are the same. Halle and Oprah did it tough in their early years getting to where they are now but it would appear they both haven't forgotten their roots. Both did the hard yards with Halle being homeless and into her third marriage as well as a string of other relationships. It proves my point in relation to connecting the dots in that 'we are all born the same and we will all die the same'. But when I go searching I come across sooooo much inspirational stuff from people I don't expect to. Like Halle Berry's quote about hardship 'instead of despairing I try to find the lesson within the experience'. If you have been reading BLOG thingie for a while you would think I wrote that line! But it's a common theme for those that battle their way through.

Working Backwards to HARPO Productions
As you know I use a lot of quotes from Oprah. She's not my idol but she is truly inspirational. Oprah had a terrible childhood having been abused and having a difficult family upbringing. But she used those "GIFTS" to her advantage as she moved through life. Then she used her EXPERIENCE and exposure (or more like OVER exposure) to help others deal with their own life problems. She even went public with her very emotional 'skeletons' because she believed in herself and her reason for being. Very powerful stuff and a very powerful woman because of her own life EXPERIENCES. She shared those very personal and bitter experiences to benefit others. Oprah Winfrey connected the dots. The quote above is confirmation that the MIND CONTROLS our THOUGHTS. She knows it and she WORKS it. She knows it and LIVES it.

.....YOU ARE YOUR MIND....
A very good friend of mine is studying Psychology. Like me she worked hard all her life to build her future through business but the GFC made a mess of her as well. She is very spiritual and I will share her beautiful poetry with you when I get DotsHQ going. She writes with such beautiful emotion based on some very hard times. The EXPERIENCES provide that EMOTION. They are hardship turned into GIFTS but we don't find out until after the hard bit. I asked her last night where the MIND is seeing she is studying Psychology. She then gave me the most perfect answer based on what she had learned. She told me the MIND is non-local which she had never read before, that it is EVERYWHERE throughout the body and Universe but that it is also based on your own personal BELIEF. As far as I know that is as good a definition of the MIND as there can be. Well done girl friend!
So Oprah, you are soooo right. The THOUGHTS CONTROL your LIFE. If you want to change your life you just have to change your MIND because.....
YOUR MIND CONTROLS YOUR THOUGHTS.......
