"Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet;
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams".
- W B Yeats, poem 'Aedh Wishes For The Cloths Of Heaven', 1899
In their Turkish delights and hallucinatory states, they jibbered quite a lot of stuff which made sense if you read them over a thousand times or so. Now that may seem over obsessive, but maaan do you get a big buzz when you work out what it is they're jibbering about!
The little piece by Yeats above is one of my favorites because, weeell, I think he wrote it about me (the poor bit!). Anyway.......
But you know what's saaaad, dot. A lot of people in the homeless world have forgotten how to dream. They have sunk soooo low that they have given up on life. Even though dreams COST nothing, zilch, zero, some of the people are further south than Devil's Dip. See, because of their isolation, loneliness, suffering and despair, they have broken spirits. They need to take drugs and alcohol to escape reality. They have lost the ability to dream. That's why it is sooooo important for me to create the exposure and to manifest my dream. See, when I do, I hope it will give some of them back their LOST SPIRIT, especially those that have seen me on the bottom with them. And so my VISION MUST MANIFEST. To me there is no option. It is my responsibility to help as many as I possibly can. I have to show them how to SEE...
..... their DREAM DATE.....
