Do you ever watch television and admire the actors or presenters or models for their beauty or their talent? Sometimes get caught in an emotional movie where you want to become one of the characters because, for a moment in time, you want to be just like them?
I had a coffee with a good friend yesterday and she talked of one of my, and her, favourite movies "Under The Tuscan Sun" with Diane Lane. Remember? I know it's sort of a girlie movie (Yeah, one of my favourites also is "Pretty Woman"! Sooooo?????? Well I'm a Sensitive New Age Guy, a SNAG...so there!).
Anyway what movies are designed for is to take you away for a little while. From reality. From Busyness. Into a make believe world. A world of dreams. Like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman where she wanted the fairytale (I think that's what she wanted? Hmmmm...).
So many times we wish we could have what we see others have WITHOUT asking ourselves whether we indeed may have those same gifts. We just assume that we couldn't be so lucky. And we never carry out our own inner search to find out whether we have the ability, the skill, the GIFTS.
And so we finish the movie, give out a deep sigh, go to bed with a nice cosy contented smile after the feelgood moment, go to sleep and go back to the reality of life the next day.
Meanwhile your consciousness is going "Aaaarrgghhmm, ker kerm (coughing), excuuuse me, but aaaarrgghhmm, would you mind just checking to see if maybe you might just have some special gifts JUST LIKE THAT GIRL IN THE MOVIE! Hell ohooo.....
This body is attached to this mind thingie that is attached to this consciousness thingie, which has lots and lots of very special gifts for each of us. But we never go searching. We just assume these gifts are for other GIFTED people. So we don't bother looking. We just go through life NOT LOOKING. We get the message in the movie, the movie ends, we turn the tele off, and with that we turn off the dream.......
