"O Diem Praeclarum"
It is Latin for "Oh What A Beautiful Day". Yep, even hobos hav'em (beautiful days, that is!) See, I'm a bit of a Latin groupie. I think I was one of the last half dozen people in the world to actually study it through to Year 12. I can't remember much of it now, nor French which I also studied, but I still use some of the phrases daily in my comeback tour. There are three Latin sayings I use as mantras. O Diem Praeclarum, "Nanos Gigantium Humeris Insidentes" which means "Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants" and one particularly relevant saying "Alienus Non Diutius" which means "Alone No More". The "Giants" is the method I am using to create DotsHQ. "Alienus Non Diutius" keeps me sane. I live alone, alienated, reclusive, but I am not alone.
This morning I woke up, or should I say got woken up by my beautiful alarm clock, Birdie. Yep, regular as clockwork Birdie blasts a rendition of cooo-coo-coooo-cooo every morning. I've never seen it but I am in love with it. Sometimes it begins a nightmare and turns it into a dream, it sounds so beautiful. It makes me smile and proclaim "O DIEM PRAECLARUM". I spend about 15 minutes or so praying and meditating. Then I move. I check out the front door (well you know, the flywire of the tent!) and check for anything dangerous like snakes, spiders, people. Sometimes they all look the same! Then, like this morning, I go down to the beach and have a jog followed by a quick swim. But this morning was even betterererer. I checked my phone and had a message from one of my church friends. She sent me this most beautiful message. I cried. Then something happened. I had this slogan that I wanted to use for DotsHQ. I thought of it one night in and out of sleep but I didn't write it down as I normally do. I knew it was the one I had to use. But nothing for days. I was pulling my now very long hobo hair out. Then while I was having a bit of a sob......enlightenment. The slogan just came to me. I was so'appy!
Co-incidence, synchronicity maybe, my angel perhaps. Who knows? But it made a hobo happy, if just for a moment.
It's nice to wake up to a coo-coo, the sun shining, the birds singing, and a little inspiration, a message of some sort, and to not only know Alienus Non Dietius but that it it is O Diem Praeclarum to Nanos Gigantium Humeris Insidentes.
Well, it was for me. I hope it was for you too!
